Palm Drive Health Care District was formed in April 2000 to manage Sebastopol’s Palm Drive Hospital, which originally opened in 1939. Palm Drive Health Care District serves the approximately 50,000 people who live in western Sonoma County, including the communities of Sebastopol, Graton, Forestville, Bodega Bay, Carmet, Salmon Creek, Jenner, Duncan’s Mills, Guerneville, Occidental, Freestone, Rio Nido, Monte Rio, Guernewood Park, Summerhome and Mirabel Park.

Health Care Districts in California are public entities empowered by the State Legislature to provide a wide range of community-based health services.

BOD PhotoPDHCD is managed by five publicly elected members who serve on the Board fo Directors for a four-year term. Board meetings, which are open to the public and typically conducted in the conference room inside SWMC, take place the first Monday of each month at 5:30 PM. Governing Body meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month. The Sonoma West Medical Center Board meets on the third Monday of the month.
